Firefox no longer does a page down

after doing a clean reinstall of Windows X. P. home addition, and reinstalling Firefox, when I hit the sacebar Firefox no longer does a page down. I have Microsoft Internet Explorer installed, which does a pagedown when I hit the spacebar.I have reinstalled Firefox several times, with no luck. Anyone have any ideas about what's going on here?Thanks JJ.
