I'm having a prolem with the address bar. Whenever I try to enter a new address, the explorer crashes saying to send an error report to msn.Everything else appears to work ok. I can use favorites to get to any site. I just cannot enter new informationusing the address bar. As you know Favorites puts an address in the address bar. This works ok.Any ideas why ?

Sounds just like Internet Explorer misbehaving. Do you have any other browsers?

Then it's probably just Internet Explorer, you can do a few things:1. Use an alternate browser, and only use IE for sites that need it.2. Re-install IE3. Try some registry cleaners like RegCleaner (http://tweaknow.com/RegCleaner.html_), and see if the problem isn't just because of years of patching IE.

I can use another browser which works. I followed your advice and ran reg cleaner. It did not fix the problem. It is just one of those things. IE-6 is not working right and I don't know why. This bugs me!

Did you try re-installing IE like TheNameless said?If that doesn't work, and you really want IE, then try out IE7 beta3. It can be found at www.microsoft.com under the download section. You might need to download google desktop for it to work right. See if it works without google. If you can't get tabbed browsing, then download google desktop.editchange toolbar to desktop, sorry for the mix up

Yeah, for people that love Internet Explorer, IE 7 Beta is a good option, altough be careful when installing beta software. I do recommend using an alternative browser like Firefox or Opera though, it helps with security to an extent, and Google Toolbar is available for Firefox along with the popular McAfee Siteadvisor. Don't call me a Firefox fanboy, I randomly switch between Firefox, Opera and Internet Explorer 7 and I can't really pick what I like best.Another idea just popped in my head, and it seems to be worth a try. What if you tried using Avant Browser or something? http://www.avantbrowser.com Just try it, its really just an IE engine with its own toolbars and other features and whatnot around it... if you like Internet Explorer, that could be another option, not sure if IE crashes whether it'll crash to or not, but its only one megabyte so its quick to download and a good browser too. I haven't used it for a long time, but I liked it. It has activeX blocking, popup blocking, image blocking, flash blocking, etc. etc. all useful features to use when needed.

{size:18px} :D Hi Paul : Since you still have this problem, I recommend you ask the volunteer Microsoft Most Valuable Professional(s) on the forums at : www.aumha.net ; they are "tops" in questions like this .

I solved the problem. I'm using Verizon DSL with MSN. When this package is installed, it installs Visual IP InSight. The problem went away when I removed Visual IP InSight.
