I have been wishing I could find a utility that would do 2 things. 1) When I am not actively working on the computer and the disk light comes on I want to know what program is accessing the disk and what file. 2)What files are each of my active programs accessing and their location and reading or writing. Anyone know of such a utility?

Hey bhb !!

Welcome to PCWorld Community !

The only program I can think of right now (am at work so, not too much time) is,

AnVir Task Manager. You can have the Paid For version for free if you go to Ashraf's

site (dotTech.org) . From this link , you can download install and register with the

license code provided on this page. Scroll down to "To get AnVir Task Manager:"

http://dottech.org/f...exclusives/7292

This might be information overload but, you might be interested in this program.

You might give Ashraf a call to see if he has what you are looking for if this doesn't do the

trick.
