Copying photo images onto CD's. Why are the image names corrupted when opened on a MAC?
Does anyone know how to make CD's open the same after copied from a CD and opened on a Mac?

They certainly should work. I've shared photo CDs with Mac users without trouble.
Could you please answer the following questions:
1) What program do you use to burn the CDs?
2) Does the program "close" the disc when you're done with it?
3) Do you use CD-R or CD-RW discs?

In addition to Lincoln's questions, which version of the Mac OS is the Mac running? I would assume a version of Mac OS X, but wanted to make sure. There is a BIG difference between how Mac OS X handles such stuff and OS 9 (or earlier).

I have been using the Nero Burning Room to burn CD's and DVD's.
It could be function of what format you are using. I forget what options are available for Nero (it will likely also depend on the version you are using). If I get a chance, I will install Nero (I have been meaning to get around to installing it) and see what the option are. I believe I am still using version 6.
You could also try using Windows default burning function/application.

What do you mean by closing the disk?
This will depend on the type of disk used (i.e. whether an R disk or an RW disk) and how you burn them. Generally speaking, this would mainly apply to burning RW disks, but not R disks. It is largely a function of what software you use to burn them with. I believe it is generally less of an issue for "data" disks as opposed to "video" disks. Where I have mainly seen it is with video cameras that burn video to an optical disk...you will generally need to "close" the disk before you can insert that disk to play on a standard DVD player to watch the video.

Unlike hard drives and flash drives, CDs and DVDs weren't designed as a writable medium, so workarounds are neccisary to make them so. Most CD authoring programs must close the disc (I'm not sure if they all use that word) before it becomes readable on a computer that's not running the same software. Once closed, the disc cannot be written to (although if it's RW media, it can be reformatted).

"OS stands for "operating system," so they are all OS. We have both OS X and OS 9
versions in the office. None of them are the most current versions."
This is the answer I recieved from the office.
I still don't get it.
A private school head had the numbers changed when he opened the CD's, an architect that has up to date computers as he does historical restorations...
City public school...
Tell me it is our software and I will just...
Thank you for your help

You can try burning the cds as ISO format... the mac should read that... even my older macs do.
Same thing going from Mac to PC. I can burn as hybrid or ISO for pc compatibility.
Just eyeball the options in your burner software.
Btw, I did research Nero a couple of years ago when I tried to find out a way to burn to mac format on a pc.
I did find out that you can do that with Nero but it's a little complicated (at least it is if you are not to familiar with windows, like me). I didn't follow through and have since misplaced the info. You can probably google that.
