Don't automatically assume an 8 megapixel camera is better than a 5 megapixel when crammed into a cameraphone. If the physical size of the CCD is no bigger then the CCD elements are going to be a lot smaller and more prone to bleeding and poor low light performance.
This rush for bigger numbers for bragging rights when the quality actually decreases is very depressing.

The Ericsson has always had a sub-par camera with high pixels, but that doesn't really matter when the phone itself is bad ass. I've owned 3 Ericssons in my life and will definitely be getting this one.
I am really hoping that the touch screen version doesn't go against why Ericsson lovers are what they are. Durability. Size. Reliability and a all around good phone with great features.
I was watching "My Name is Earl" episodes on my Ericsson, years before the iPhone.

The 3 megapixel camera in the 3GS is really not as good a true 3 megapixel digital camera's. It IS a bigger image than the 2megapixel one in the Original iPhone but it's still very fuzzy.
The video on the other hand, I find very crisp and clean (640x480) with high frame rates. It suffers from a lack of a stabilization feature though; walking around a room or outside with it trying to point at something and you'll make your audience rather sick to the stomach with motion sickness.

The BB Storm has a 3.2 camera and the pex are very clear even at 640x480 and it has flash which is a huge help in low light areas. However I found that even in low light it does well with the flash which to me is to bright.
I found the cameras on phones are better if the lens is bigger no matter what the pixel range is.

but imagine how it will cost and how will it beat the iphone. nobody will ever have games 200000 apps and games
The number of Apps that actually do unique, useful things, is more like 10-15 tops. And, you know what the iPhone WONT have soon? Google support. All of those 200,000 apps mean nothing without Google support. Good-bye iPhone.
Also, some people like a phone that doesn't break when dropped. Maybe that's just me though.
