Mini dvds not play in Toshiba Satellite

Ever have trouble playing mini dvds--like the kind you get with some electronics for interface with computer, or the kind you use in some camcorders--when you place them in the disc drive of your computer? My Toshiba Satellite does not recognize the mini dvds I place in the drive, even though the format is supported by the computer. Is it the just the small size, and if so, what do you do about it? Thanks!

Have you only tried such disks from a camcorder? If so, have you finalized the disk using the camcorder before you tried it in the computer? Does you computer recognize and play full size commercial video DVDs?
