compared to other graphics cards in laptops how does the mobile radeon xpress measure up?im realy thinking about getting a hp dv5000 with it in it along with a 2.2 ghz amd turion 64 processor with 1 gig of ram.it should be decent for watching dvd's and playing games like fear and splinter cell.how good is it on a level from 1 to 10 :?:and any other suggestions for better graphics on a laptop?my price range is about $1200.if i do get the hp dv5000 with the radeon xpress 200 can i upgrade the graphics later on:?:{size:18px}[/size]

Uhh, the hp d5000t( i think its "t") is such an awesome notebook, 256 mb grapics AND 7-8 hours of battery life, omg thats cool. It can run f.e.a.r and oblivion, so splinter cell should be good to go too (although you will have to lower resolution) I use a 512 mb card, but actually 128 will do unless you want to crank up the res. The hp should last you 2 years, because a year after directX 10 comes out, you might need to change your card. For 1500, the config is a steal.

ATI Radeon x200 is the lowest of the family. It's a budget integrated graphics card, so you can't upgrade it, only increase the ram. It will hold its own against other integrated graphics, and is very decent for games.

I used to have one in my configed presario. look, its an awesome card, it you like still images. it can play movies just fine. But even if you share video memory, the GPU is not fast enough to run the games the way you want them. sure they'll dsiplay the graphics but it may be pretty choppy, unless you just want to play them. I think however you shouls get it and just carefully overclock your video card gpu like i did to run fear on full grpahics. All you need is a program called ATITool.exe, which is free. It allows you to heat up your GPU nad test it to see how much faster you can clock it too. do that and itll be an awesome laptop without any problems. I trust ATITool with my life, its a very good gpu clocking program.
