Please provide more information. This is really not enough information to begin troubleshooting your issue. The basic question would be did you install the software for the camera? Any details you can provide would be helpful.

For the time being ..just take the mem-card out and transfer to pc ..." drag-drop "
Hi Tek. I thought about that as well. Very good suggestion. According to HP, this computer does come with a memory card reader so it should work like any external hard drive or flash drive.

This is your computer, correct? On the left side of the front panel, you should see a series of small horizontal slots (similar to floppy drives). The memory card from your camera should fit easily within one of those slot. Please refer to this quick reference guide from HP for more information:
Setup Poster Page 2
Once you have inserted the media card, the computer will recognize that card just like a drive. You can then open Windows Explorer to drag and drop the images from the media card to the hard drive.
As to the camera issue itself. From where exactly did you obtain the drivers and software for the camera? If you are using the same CD that came with your camera, I would recommend downloading the latest version of the software and drivers from Sony.

To make sure ..there is not any conflict software interferes with your ImageMixer ...
Do it one more time ...Uninstall all ....."All" ....video or picture editor programs by using REVO unstaller :
( Only delete files that in BOLD letters)
Then install original Sony software from the disc .." NO update yet " ....And it has to be in "star-up" menu ..You can see it in system tray .....
Before you plug-in the cam USB connector to your pc ....
See if it works ......?
(BTW ....How much mem. you have left ......?) This needs quite large storage to handle video ...

The computer only has a 256MB memory chip installed but is configured to perform as if it has 2GBs of memory. This could be a major factor why the computer shuts down. Once you try Tek's suggestion, we may want to investigate this avenue.

For example, I have a Sony DCR-TRV350. It's probably 7 years old but in great shape. However, I cannot download videos from tape to my Windows 7 PC since Sony won't provide drivers or ImageMixer software for the Windows 7 platform. I CAN download pictures and digital videos from stick via USB - but Sony does not support streaming for downloading tape videos in Windows 7. Nor do they support FireWire to USB connections.
I'll never buy Sony again - unless I expect to only use the product for 4 years!
