I have a DVD player that is DVD+/-RW 16X Double Layer Multiformal Drive and now all of a suden The door will not open even when I try to open it with the software. Do I have to get a new one and chuck it or is there a trick release somewhere? TNX

Hi santa and welcome to the PCWorld Communities. :D
Please be more specific. Are you referring to a DVD Rom Drive that is installed in your computer or are you referring to an actual DVD Player connected to your television? From the context of your post, I would presume it's the latter but best to clarify.
Now, if you are referring to a DVD Rom Drive, there should be a small pin-hole size hole on the front of the DVD Rom Drive. Using a pencil or paperclip, gently push inside the hole. This will manually force the drive open.
