I can walk to the Food Lion in less time than that, as it is about a mile away. The next closest is Kroger ( 2 stores) and Walmart. All within 2 miles of the house. Sometimes I think there was way too much growth in the the area. Just like, if you take I-64 east from Richmond, it isn't so bad until you get to Williamsburg. After that it gets worse the further East you go. On the western leg of I-64 west of the City where I am at, it doesn't look so bad from the Interstate, until you get off.

I have a Safeway up the street, it takes me just a couple of minutes to get there if I drive. In summer sometimes I walk to buy a couple of things, and it's about a 10 min walk.
For the malls, BestBuy, Circuit City, Borders, Wal Mart, etc., you do have to take the freeway to get there, it could be 25 mins or more, depending on traffic.

Some of the ones out here have gone into Gormet Coffee, course you can get the regular as well. We have a fast food chain out here, Hardee's. I noticed a fast food chain out here that had the same identical logo as Hardee's ( Big Gold Star) and when I saw it, I said Man, that's Trademark enfringement if I ever saw it. As it turns out, it is the same chain, but for some reason they Changed the name out there, and kept the logo. 7-11 was a good idea at the time, but has pretty much run it's course, as now you have Grocery stores that are open 24/7 and they are pretty convienient for the most part.
