God Speed indeed. There aren't a lot of the original cast left now. Of course it's been 40 years since that show was on the air. There are some interesting facets to the background. The "automatic" doors were actually operating by wooden rods pulled by stage hands to the "woosh" sound. The data discs that Spock used sure look like 3 1/2 in floppies, some 15 years before they were invented. Shoot, personal computers hadn't even been invented yet.

It's amazing how Science Fiction always seems to lead the way. I remember reading Isaac Asimov and Andre Norton when I was in Jr. High and High School, and they always seemed to have a "data port" with a "viewing screen" in the house. What an absolutely impossible futuristic idea it was, at least it was until the internet came along, and especially with broadband.

Hey knifeblade, Sounds good and congrats on the win. I was just looking at a live shot from Milwaukee Wi. and I guess that stuff is heading your way. Just overcast and foggy down here and fairly mild at about 45 degrees.

Hey Knifeblade, That's all part of the Christmas spirit. Think of all those folks who would like to see a White Christmas and won't ( most of the lower 2/3 of the US). We will looking at around 60 degrees for Christmas Day & Sunny. It used to be when i was growing up, besides Bicycles, Sleds were a big thing to get for Christmas. These days, you would be hard pressd to find a sled to buy, as I don't think many if any stores still sell them in these parts. You can get those round plastic things, that in my opinion are not as much fun as sleds.

Today my friend had to go to Target to return something, so I went along with her because I needed to buy something too.

Then we went next door to a store called Beverlys, where they have all their Xmas decorations at 60% off. I bought 6 more of the lavender silk poinsettias and a couple of large gold ornaments (those are for next year.)

Afterwards we had lunch at The Olive Garden, I had Minestroni Soup and Salad, with their yummy garlic breadsticks. It was soo good that I had 2 bowls of soup and 2 plates of the salad. :p We brought the leftover salad and breasticks home.

After all that food I was feeling tired and sleepy and I really wanted to come home, but my friend dragged me to BestBuy... So, what happened? The traffic was horrendous, it took us almost 30 mins to go less than 2 miles, then we couldn't find a parking place at BB! Afterwards, getting back home in that traffic was just as horrendous. That didn't make me a happy camper.

As soon as we got home, I put some comfortable flannel pants on and put the lavender poinsettias on the tree. I think I might need to get some more.

< big sigh >

Last night I had to log off early, because my friend came home with a surprise for me: A Mamma Mia Special 2 Disc Edition DVD, with a Bonutrack CD!!

I was so excited, because when we both went to see the movie a few weeks ago, I just fell in love with this movie. It was very funny and entertaining, and the music was so awesome, I felt like getting up and dancing in the isle!

I popped that CD on my computer and had a nice time listening to it. :D

We didn't get to watch the movie, because I injured my left hand and things kind of went south from there. :(

< big sigh > Oh well.
