:0 Holy Moley, smax, I was legal to drink in MI before I even graduated high school!!!!!!!!!! Caveat~~~~~~ that was when MI still had the 18 age legal. And, no, I didn't get held back, in fact I accelerated by 1/2 A YEAR to graduate. Boy, was I popular with everyone, I could buy, they couldn't, but well, that's almost a mispent youth thread, LMAO.

Hi MPH, (I left and just came back)

That's exactly what I saw when I went looking to see if a member was loged in, and was surprised to find me missing.

Hi MPH, just to piggy-back, belatedly, on the drive-in post; I once worked as a security guard in the snack bar at Carlins Drive-in in Baltimore. I worked that post for about two weeks and the only feature showing at the time was Mel Brooks' "Blazing Saddles". The sound was piped into the snack bar and, when things were a little slow, I could step outside and watch the movie. As a result I learned the dialogue from that movie almost word-for-word. I still drive my wife crazy by occasionally quoting (IMO) hilarious lines from "Blazing Saddles" :^0

K, an anything discuss, right, mph? As long as not tech., K.

I would just like to share some good stuff coming my way with you fellow members. Plz bear with me, this may be long. I am just so fortunate all of a sudden to have the following given, or coming my way, and practically all at once!!!!!!!!!!! I just had to share this with you all.

Trying to embrace brevity, I got my vacation pay on top of a very good hourly check recently. SSOOOOOOOOOO......... I helped some Ebay sellers out, LMAO. Coming is a FX5500 256 GPU to upgrade the 5200 128M currently running here. I have a DVD recorder on the way, to finally digitize my old and many VHS tapes, to slim that library down, space-wise. Got a matched pair of woofers to replace the old, {built in college, about 30 years old now} woofers in my handbuilt Heathkit speaker cabinets.

This is the really neat thing~~~~~~~A very good and old classmate and band member friend of mine and I from high school turned professional drummers back in our days, respectively. We both sold our drum kits, and stopped pro playing a decade or so ago, but still have the "urge" to bang some heads, so to speak. Any hoo, he bought a digital kit recently, just to keep up with times and stick-time. It's a OSP DD-502 mkII kit. Well, he invited me over to play it, and I really wanted one, but things happened.

So, last Saturday, cryptically, around 3 a.m., he shows up at my door with, you guessed it. In the box, the same kit, free, for giggles he said, so I could jam with him in the future.

Let's just say I was astounded. Thanks for letting me share my joy.

Well, it was only important because I noticed that I was missing, when I was really here!

I like to know who is online, that tells me whether I want to stay and post, or not.

So, g'night.

...oh, just to add to this post...did anyone know that running the air conditioner while the car is idle waste really no gas at all. We had the a/c running throughout both movies...a total of four and a half hours...and when we started the car, the gas indicator was just about at the same spot. :D

Hi Knifeblade. Thanks for that. :D

Yes, my latest (as far as I can remember my first) experience was definitely worthwhile. I think as long as people continue to enjoy movies under the stars, drive-ins will always be around. It is just too bad that they are not open during the winter months.

Hi UncleW. Welcome to the party. :D

I think I may have seen Blazing Saddles a long time ago but I am not sure. Since you brought up the snack bar, let me share something. During The Dark Knight, I wanted some more food. I did not want to miss any of the movie but, unlike your drive-in, the snack bar area did not have the audio of the movie. The misses suggested that I listen to the audio of the movie through my mp3 player since it has a radio. Absolutely brilliant. :D

So, I tuned the radio to the appropriate station, got out the car, and went to the snack area. I ordered my food and then went to the door to watch the movie while I waited for my food to be cooked. I asked for extra crispy fries so it took longer than normal. When my food was done, one of the snack area employees brought it to me and turned away (I guess because he thought I paid already).

At this point, I could have just left the store but that would not have been cool. I mentioned to him that I had not paid yet. The look he gave me was like, "Oh my God, thank you. You just saved my job!" LOL I paid for the food (totaling $5) and left a $1 tip in the tip jar.

Yeah, it could have just been one of those things with the forum. People missing, posts disappearing and reappearing, Discussions missing...I think there is a Poltergeist in the Community. LOL :^0

Hi Knifeblade. That is so cool. I am glad you were able to make those upgrades. Let us know how everything works when you get everything from eBay.

Hi Aurora. How was everything with the move itself. Are you exhausted? What does the desk look like?

Hi Lil. The fastest I have gone was 125MPH (201KMH). That was a long time ago and now, the fastest I go is when I am traveling the New Jersey Turnpike. The speed limit is 55MPH (88.5KMH) or 65MPH (104.5) depending on the stretch of Turnpike you are on but no one goes less than 85MPH (137KMH) or 90MPH (145KMH).

Fastest I have been is about 120 mph on a test track. It was when I was an intern for a car company and they had gotten an Acura NSX to "tinker" with (they all aluminum frames for lighter weight and so this company was looking at how that was done). Before they tore it apart, we got to "play" with some. It was a small track and it was not really design for high speeds, but it did have one slightly banked curve that you could get up to speed and then in the following straight away get up to about 120 before you had to "back off". Never gotten anywhere close to that on the street. Best on a highway I have gotten is maybe in the 80s. Could have pushed it once...there was (don't know if it is still there) a stretch of high in Montana that had no speed limit. Of course, when I was on the stretch, I was driving a full size van...not exactly the most conducive vehicle to going fast.
