On a side not I got my xpm 05 pc back up and running as my dvr where cable was going to hit me 50 a month for my dvr box with hd. I am now looking at Att and Verizon again for tv cable and phone.

With Verizon FiOS, I have a ton of TV channels ( No premium Movie stuff), My land Line is free of Long Distance charges within the the US, and I have 15 mbps down and 2 mbps up on the internet for around $109 per month plus the taxes. I'm not complaining. They actually upgraeded the 15 & 2 to 20 & 5, but it wasn't automatic as you you had to call them to get it bumped up. I haven't called, so am still at 15& 2.

That sounds like a good price. my cable is jumping up to 150 with my dvr hd box so i am dumping the box. which will drop my cable bill down to 99 a month plus tax. After looking at whats out there I can get a better deal then what i was paying but I am going to have to go with dish network it looks like.

Yeah, I felt bad for Benton.... but he did manage to take some of those bad thugs with him.

And I was just thinking about something... it seems like Jack loses one important person/friend at the beginning of every season. Does it seem like that to you? I guess they use that to make Jack go on a revenge kick - besides saving the President and the country, all that small stuff..... :p

RT, do you have Comcast right now? Their prices have gone up and up, seems like every a couple of months...

I like to record a program and watch another, that's the reason I have a Panasonic DVR, which lets me do just that. In order for me to have HD from Comcast, I'd have to get one of those boxes (which I hate) and a DVR, and still I wouldn't be able to record one show and watch another show. I mean, why in the world would I want to do that, right?

My phone and Internet is with AT&T, and my cable is with Comcast.

I have DirecTV before FiOS, and it was fantastic. The customer service was the best I had had in a long time. Had billing problem once, and it got straightened out in no time with no hassle. It was an error on their part, so we ended up with three months of FREE movie channels. On another occasion, we ended up getting a free months service. They really went all out for the customer to be sure.

the thing that realy gets me is its an amd 2500+ (1.88ghz 32bit chip) 1 gb ram. I ram the same setup for 3 years then went to the dvr when I got the hd tv. The wife thinks its funny that i went and rebuilt the whole system well i was sick. If ondemand had to had worked maybe i would not have dumped the boxs but with ondemand not work i just could not take it.

I still have DirecTv and am very satisfied. They are continuing to roll out HD channels, the latest to go HD is Fox News Channel. That makes it nice as then when I switch to another HD channel after watching the news, I don't have to reset the plasma TV aspect ratio. (If I leave in on 16:9 and regular channels everyone looks like they have gained 30 pounds).

I used to think their prices were a little high, but I have one HD DVR, one HD Receiver and an SD Receiver. I get charged $10 for HD, $5 for the second and $5 for the third receiver. With the local channels, and taxes it works out to just under $82 a month. With my telephone bill with broadband internet now running at about $80, I am spending about $160 a month for all three (HD TV, internet and telephone). But that's almost $40 less than I was spending in total when I had satellite internet instead of DSL.

I could have probably saved a little more money with Windstream if I had packaged Dish Network in with it, but I was satisfied with DirecTV so didn't shift.

I would love to be able to get HDTV, but Comcast charges too much for my taste.
