Pc Software Most Like Imovie Want to create slide show w/ photos and video

My husband created on his MAC using IMovie a great video using still photos and video clips for a presentation. I need to do something similar on my PC. I'm not giving into the notion that you can't make something good and easy on a PC! I've tested out ProShow Gold, but it has limitations editing video. I've testing Nero 9, but it seems rather cumbersome compared to IMovie. Any other suggestions?

Have you tried Movie Maker from Microsoft? If nothing else, it is free.
