Are their any point and shoot cameras with an optical viewfinder and at least 10 times optical zoom? What is an electronic viewfinder and how does that work. I dislike the LCD screen--especially in the sun. Thanks so much

Check out the Panasonic FZ series cameras, they have an electronic viewfinder that you can look at and see if you like... I like it as it shows you what you will be capturing, the optical ones give you a good guess. That camera also has an EXCELLENT lcd screen that does not wash out in the sun near as bad as many cheaper cameras. The FX series also has an excellent lens on there. EG. My fz-8 has a 12x optical Leica lens. It takes amazing photos.

--edit--

FYI one major drawback to the electronic lens is that it is not quite "real time" meaning that there is a slight delay in what it sees, and what you see... so for sports, it takes a bit of getting used to.
