I am so fed up with the Federal governemnt sticking their nose where it simply does not belong. If pretexting is illegal then it is a court matter, not one for a subcommittee. If HP knew it was illegal and did it anyway then it's still a court matter and not one for the Congress to deal with. For California AG Lockyer to threaten that he is going to "paper the place {HP headquarters} with subpoenas" is disgusting. All he is doing is noting that he will waste as much taxpayer dollars as possible for little to know tangible benefit. HP has a right to protect it's interests and if someone on the board was violating their contract by slipping internal information to the press then that too is a court matter.Or is there a sub-committee for that too?
