Randall you fanboy....trying to "explain" something that you have no clue about.

How is it that Windows 7 touches on so many things that users wanted out of Vista? Is it because MS ignored users? Use your logic....

Wow dude, rant much? It's an advertising campaign to make people think it's more friendly and usable, which it is. At least Microsoft has the decency to come up with new, original, classy, and effective marketing material. That's way more than can be said for Apple's now age old "I'm a Mac." commercials that actually misconstrue the facts.

Bitter at the success that is Windows 7? Seems like it, you jumped on Vista quite fast.

If it wasn't listening to the users, 7 wouldn't have been out nearly as fast as it was.

That and it really is a marketing campaign.

This article is garbage.

@RickBeckwith

Wow I am really glad to see other people have the same attitude toward the "I'm a Mac" commercials. They are really getting annoying.

I am with quackadilly on the this one. Windows 7 has what was asked for from Vista hands down.

Glad to see someone else had no Vista issues. I was thinking I'm the only network admin with at least 10 vista computers all running smoothly. Of course they are all newer machines that had the drivers available and none had the infamous Intel motherboard that were 'vista ready'.

I installed my windows 7 on four machines yesterday, all without incident. Although I see IOLO Tech was right about windows 7 booting slower. On two of the machines it now takes longer to boot and the other two are about the same.

About this article, yes... Microsoft has been listening to users for 20 years so they all rights to say 'windows 7 was made by you'.

It's not a day unless I get my morning dose of Microsoft bashing BS from PC World popping up in my tech feeds.

Wow! I had to create an account just so I could comment on THIS story. Randall, I'm absolutely amazed at how effortlessly you are able to embarrass yourself! You have the audacity to claim that Microsoft's attempts to honestly incorporate community into their product is a LIE? Yet I'm certain you chuckle warmly at the countless Mac promos that for years have based their entire campaign off myths and mud-sling success due to the incredibly low intelligence of their minuscule user base. "Mac. Because you're too dumb to think for yourself."

Microsoft's marketing strategy needs work. They've tried everything it seems and never have had a remotely successful campaign. From the awful Seinfeld commercials, to the find a crappy laptop commercial, finish with their cram as many people in a commercial as possible in order to seem relevant campaign.

Microsoft listens to 1 voice (2 maybe). Business users and Gov't. Home users can get bent in their eyes.

Did you know that Justin Long isn't a Mac at all? In fact, he's not even a computer! He's a human actor. Irish Spring isn't actually made with water from an Irish Spring either, it's made with purified tap water. And Gatorade doesn't make you sweat the color of what you drank, people don't usually off-road in brand new vehicles, fast food doesn't look like how it does on TV and beer won't turn the hottest day of the year into a snowy, chick-filled paradise.

Also Santa Clause isn't real. The Easter Bunny is a fake, the world won't end in 2012, Elvis is dead, JFK's assassination wasn't a government conspiracy and Windows 7 wasn't actually our idea!

Sorry for breaking your Randall, I just thought these things were apparently obvious.

Thank you Microsoft for listening to your best customers!

The N.S.A. asked for a backdoor and got one!

They asked for a way to copy end users encryption keys to hard disk and transfer them across the network and got it!

Thank you Microsoft for the best spy-platform the N.S.A. could ask for

and don't worry about getting caught either cuz your friends at the N.S.A. made your closed source Operating System a matter of National Security.

The fix is in buddy, you'll never lose a court case over this spyware again!

PROMISE!!!

I wanted to add that Windows 7 was in Beta and R.C. for nearly a year before it was launched. In comparison, Snow Leopard was in R.C. for only a little over a week before it launched. Is it not possible that in nearly 52 weeks of feedback that Microsoft listened to what we, the users, had to say? We played a part in making Windows 7 what it is.
