Can't Send Emails Through Outlook?

I use my laptop for all emailing and when I'm at my local community college I use their wireless internet; however, to use their internet I have to enter a username and password on a Cisco Authentication page to use the internet. My problem is that when I am on their network I can not send an email through Outlook 2007. I basically work from my laptop so I need to be able to use Outlook. Is there anything I can do to get past this?

More than likely you have Outlook setup to use your ISP's SMTP server for outgoing email. If so, then some ISPs will NOT permit email to be sent through their SMTP server from other networks (i.e. the SMTP server recognizes that you are NOT using an IP address associated with your ISP). Other ISPs will allow you to do it, but you have to set Outlook to "authenticate" with the SMTP server using your ISP account.
