I have a linksys wireless-g PCI adapter and usually I can pick up a good reception, except for recently. I need to be able to pick up reception as far away as possible. I built a home-made antenna out of a pringles can and aluminum foil and it worked for a while but it soon stopped working. What can I do to pick up the reception again? Even if I get the reception at a mere 10% it would still work. Any suggestions would be grealty appreciated. Thanks!

Are you connecting to a WiFi access point that you control? If so, try changing the wireless channel it is using. It is possible that your are getting interference on that channel.
If that does not help, then let us know.

One of the first things you need to do is open the WIFI option from the control panel and scan for available networks. If you can't pick anything up then you have somehow mangled the antenna connector. This will also give you a relative signal strength for signals it can see. Working with those signals, try placing grounded foil or screens in front of, behind or above the antenna to enhance signals you desire. It is possible that an "N" type router near you is interfering with your desired signal. Working with the screens would help to block the interference out and also the same can be done with your router to act as a reflector by placing foils behind the antenna to reflect the signal in the direction desired. I do suspect that you may have damaged the antenna connector . Some cordless phones, cell phones and all kinds of cordless or remote devices will also interfere with WIFI.
