Hii there, I'm using custom boot & logon screens.
My softwares; For boot- Stardock's BOOTSKIN version 1.05a
For logon- Stardock's LogonStudio version 1.0.64
OS: XP sp2
PC specs: Dual Core 3Ghz, 512MB 667Hz DDR2 SDRAM
Recently, my system stopped responding after the boot screen.
As soon as the bootscreen is gone, the screen turns black. The logon screen never shows up!!
The PC does'nt respond even to a restart attempt. The only temporary solution is to switch off the main & start once again.
Let me tell u that this does'nt occurs always. In fact the PC starts successfully 8 out of 10 times.
Does anyone know whats goin wrong. PLZ help!!!

Usually these kinds of intermittent boots are a sign of a hardware failure that is intermittent. Some piece of hardware is not getting reset properly and when windows trys to find it, it locks up looking for it. These can be some of the toughest to locate and you might have better luck by trying to restart in the "safe" mode after a failure to try and find the failing device.
