Two weeks ago I noticed a drastic reduction in the quality and size of the text and graphics of my web pages. The text and graphics seemed to have shrunk towards the center of my 22 inch monitor instead of across the entire screen.

My normal screen resolution is 1400 by 900.
Colors 32 bits.
Graphic card - ATI Radeon HD2600 PRO.
OS – Windows Vista.
Anti virus – Avast 4.8 Home.

I restored my pc to an earlier date, and the text and graphics were restored to normal size.

The problem has re-occurred today. I guess that I do another restore, but I feel there is a bigger issue here. Has anyone experienced this?

define "my webpages" for me... are they websites you have created?? or just your favorite collection of websites??

and are you using firefox or internet explorer? (if you are not using firefox, try it out, it is faster and does display webpages a little differently)

try updating the driver for your graphics card also

but i should note, that some websites aren't coded for adapting to screen size... www.computerworld.com is an example

hopes this helps

I've had the same recurring problem with one of my clients units and tracked it to their visiting a game website that doesn't support the higher resolution and defaults to a lower one but doesn't reset the resolution back to what it was before. This created the problem and short of going back into the control panel and resetting the resolution back where it should be, I know of no way to get beyond this problem besides not going back to that site.

crazy4laptops: Webpages are from regular websites. I heard about Foxfire, but I want to stick with Internet Explorer. I updated my video graphics a few days ago so that may not be the issue.

mjd420nova: Windows Vista list my current screen resolution as 1400 by 900 so I don't think the resolution was changed.

Please see the attached file. I hope the problem is clearer to you.

Deymon, see down in the lower right corner of Internet Explorer where it says 75% with the little magnifying glass next to it? If you mouse over that, it'll say "Zoom Level" and if you click it, it will increase one level. If you click on the down arrow next to it, you'll get a box where you can select what zoom level you want. Right now, it's at 75%. If you increase it to 100%, that should take care of your problem. I don't know how or why it got changed, but I can duplicate your problem on my computer by changing the zoom level to 75% as you have it.

SnyperTodd: thank you so much. The problem has gone away so I think it is now solved. Thanks to everyone else who contributed.
