I have a pretty bad shudder? when i play some frist person shooters. When playing modern warfare if i stand still and move the mouse there is no shudder but as soon as i walk to the left or right and move the mouse the whole game shudders to the left and right a bit. Its almost to the point where it bugs me and i cant play it. This problem is completely nonexistent in prey or doom 3, just in left 4 dead and modern warfare(these 4 are the only fps games i have. Also im getting good framerates, the problem happens with v sync on at 60 frames and with vsyn off at 100 frames. Does my cheapo 800 dpi mouse have anything to do with it.

i posted a vidio of the problem. its worse in real life

Now that i think about it maybe its because this is only the demo version and patches in the real game fixed issues like this, just an idea

Im almost starting to think its a hardware issue, i just noticed prey and unreal tournament 2004 are doing it too. Reinstalled drivers and messed with v sync and made no difference. Ill have to see if my 8600 does any better

So i have tried a different video card, tried different monitor, reinstalled drivers again, and have done virus scans and all the games still have a annoying bounce when i move and look. Its like the whole screen shakes. When i walk upstairs the image sometimes bounces vertically

Pizza, You said when you walk upstairs the image bounces vertically? That is the effect of walking up stairs. I actuality, you will move up and down while climbing a flight of stairs, the developers included that for the sake of reality. The shuddering effect when you were turning was the reciol effect of the machinegun you were firing. You just happen to have a good graphics package that brings out those effects, get used to it buddy. Posted Image

you are right about the stairs but the shuddering when im turning happens when i dont fire the gun. if i stand still everything is super smooth but as soon as i turn and move in anydirection the whole image cannot stay steady. In some of my games turning on v sync fixes this problem but for some it doesn't. This never used to happen up until about 3 weeks ago.

Hey Pizza, You said it just started about three weeks ago. I'm guessing it was at a certain point in the game, and thus a software issue. You also said it wasn't all games but some. Trust me some games will not show any bugs until later in the game and they can only be fixed tthrough patches, if and when any are released. One way you can check is to find soomeone else who is playing the game and reached that particular point and see if they are experiencing the same thing. If so. it is definitely a game issue. I have been playing Fallout 3: Game of the Year Edition on the PS3 and it is buggy as heck, with freeze ups to beat the band.

Hey Pizza, I just went back through this. Although I think it is a stretch, it could well be the mouse, if the shudder is coming your are moving the mouse such as turning.

That is a good thought.

Pizza: What kind of mouse are you using?

its a dell moc5uo. Its the kind of mouse that comes with a computer so its not very nice but not the worst. definately not a gaming mouse by any means. I tried hooking up my logitech ex 100 mouse and that for some reason was even worse but thats also a cheap mouse so i guess its understandable. I think a good gaming mouse could be in order. me and my freind are both coincidentally looking at this one

I would certainly try another mouse and see if that helps at all.

Hey Pizza, That is Nice mouse and a good price as well. I have a Swiss Army wireless Mouse ( was a Christmas present) that I believe is 1800 dpi. Yeah, that is Swiss Army as in the Knife. Anyway it does well, and I like it until the batteries die ( which is all too often for me).
