Why are people like this article's author in love with Google? That's the way I read this. "The search giant" but not "the software giant."

In response to Google's Free Wifi at Airports during the holidays, Apple Inc. is also now offering Wifi At Airports.
Apple's "Free" Wifi access will work long enough for you to log in and submit your credit card number at which time you will get 5 minutes of free Wifi for $5.

After that customers can continue to use iWifi for FREE as long as they are downloading either iCrap software valued at $4.99 or more, or downloading music at $1 or more from Apple! The service will continue to run for "free" until the user stops purchasing music and iCrap software at which time it will return to a nominal $1 per minute charged to your credit card. Apple's iWifi will disconnect you, automatically finalize your credit card bill and charge you once your credit card is maxed out. Apple encourages parents to pre-load their credit card numbers on their young children's iCrap for maximum ease of use.

Apple revolutionized the iCrap movement by inventing iCrap, Wifi, MP3 and various other things which were started by others but generally owned and invented by Apple.

Wow, somebody is a little bitter... You think you might have over-generalized only the negative qualities of a particular product that has nothing to do with this article? I am assuming this senseless vent of malice is based on some sort of previous experience with the aforementioned product. Either you have never personally used the product, and just feed into whatever hype strikes your fancy, or you are technologically incompetent to the point of not understanding basic 'terms of service' and how online credit card billing works. If you're credit card is maxed out, you probably shouldn't be using it. FYI.

Times Square is a tourist trap?! I have to travel through it all the time on the subway, this might be a good reason to get out and enjoy the new pedestrian-friendly part of town.

"It'll take a lot more than free Wi-Fi to lure me into that tourist trap."

Maybe it's the tourists they're interested in supplying wifi for?

It would be great if this is the first step toward free Wi-Fi in airports generally. A few airports already offer it at their own expense, but Google would be seen as a tremendous benefactor by making their holiday offer permanent. Google would particularly ne seen as not "being evil" in comparison to the airlines (except for Southwest), which want to nickle and dime travelers are every opportunity.

This blog would worth something if Jared mention the 47 airports. Could be 47 airport that are small and regional? Chicago, LA, New York, Miami, Atlanta, Orlando, Philadelphia would be worth for free Wi-Fi but it's not mention and as far as I know none offer free Wi-Fi. On the link provide for Microsoft it mentions thousands of sites, hotel, airport but it doesn't mention which one. This is a half baked blog with a full favoritism for Google and he admits this. This is what I call a free ad for Google. Maybe he got pay for it.
