I have a little problem with my JVC. It is the 20GB model HDD. When I turn it on and slide it to the record mode, it is like the lens cap is on, there is no images. When I turn it to play what is in the HDD, then I can see what I have recorded. I can't figure this out, is there something wrong inside the lens that is causing this?

How old is the camera? Is it still under warranty?
If so, then I would suggest at least first trying JVC. While most tech support options for most electronic stuff is many times a joke, it is still usually worth trying.

No the warranty is up. I did some more research and I found that it could be the CCD image sensory. Is it expensive to fix?

I do not know, but I would image that it is rather pricey to fix. You might still be able to call them and ask. Or maybe find an authorized JVC service center near you and take it to them to check out. Most service center tend to charge a "diagnosis" fee that you can then "apply" to your repair costs if you choose to repair it...or just "swallow" if you decide not to repair it.
