I have an HP multifunction printer fax scanner copier......whenever I try to fax I am getting an message saying: device busy. Ideas?

What is the model of the device? (ie: Photosmart C6180 or whatever)
You might also connect a telephone to the end of the phone cord that plugs into the printer to ensure you are getting a dial tone.
Have you faxed before from this device?
