How do I get rid of MSN as my default Internet Home page and search engine? Two months ago my default Internet home page suddenly changed to MSN. I have tried changiung it back through Tools - Internet Options - General - Home Page - Use Current (Internet page alrady changed to the page I want as Home Page). The new page is registered in the Address box but when I click Apply - OK the address just reverts back to MSN. I am based in France with a French Internet ISP. By the way I am a "Dummy".

{size:18px}[/size]:D Hi Megan : Around the same time that you could NOT get rid of the MSN Home page, did you install Zone Alarm Firewall and/or get it's latest version ( 6.5 ) ? If yes, I would recommend you uninstall it and look for one of the many good and FREE ones available over the internet .

Hi Spiritwind: Please explain to me the connection between MSN controlling her home page and the possible installation of Zone Alarm firewall. I'm asking because I have Zone alarm firewall and I sure don't want MSN driving me nuts. I have yet to figure out what problems Zone Alarm is saving me from...I just believe what they say and its too hard to uninstall, so I'm being lazy by letting it ride on my hard drive. Suggestions?Stargazer

My suggestion is to get spyguard not only will it block spyware from your computer, but it will also tell you when a program is trying to change your homepage:http://www.javacoolsoftware.com/sgdownload.htmland you can tell it not to.Or, you chould change browsers www.mozilla.com

Thank you SpiritWind and AuroraManson for your replies. I didn't load Zone Alarm so that was not an issue. Tried spyguard but that didn't work. So then I tried Mozilla and life has changed for the better. Except . . .Office Outlook 2003 immediately took umbridge: suddenly the new e-mail page was divided into squares by very feint blue lines and it was impossible to type any characters. So then I downlooded Firefox Thunderbird. Life really did change for the better then.Love to you both . . . Megan.
