recently restored windows xp and drivers; now home network won't work. Keep getting message: " You might not have permission to use this network resource. Logon failure: the user has not been granted the requested logon type at this computer". Thought it might haver something to do with having installed by network driver through the "My Documents" folder, but each time I try to uninstall the Broacom driver, it reinstalls itself!! When I go int "NETWORK CONNECTIONS folder, it shows I am now onLoca Area Connection 5.

Check thenetworks name e.g. by default windows makes it "WORKGROUP" have you changed The networks name in the past ? If so changing it to That name instead of workgroup by right clicking my computer properties go to computer name tab on top you should be able to see / change the name from there . the "installed by network driver through the "My Documents folder" doesnt matter from where you had the driver. double check lol cables to network and , is the person/persons sharing file use simple file sharing or password? I could Go On and on but try this simple steps first . hope This helped somewhat.
