Hey Everyone I have a dell 4500s :( (stop laughing). Anyway I have done some upgrades 1gig of ram and a nVidia Geforce fx 5500. I am also planning to upgrade the processor to an intel p4 2.8g (again stop laughing). Does any one have an opioin on the ati radeon 9250 is it better? Would a physics generator be wasting my time? Right now money is an issue and whatever it is has to be pci.Thank you everyone for your help
Mine is overclocked but works well. I stay away from the ATI cards as they will require patches to work with most programs, and that will slow the machine down. Nothing wrong with the FX-5500. Most software mfgr's write to the Nvidia as a standard. I don't think you can do better. The upgrade to a P4 at 2.8 Ghz should do well, providing the motherboard supports it.
Thanks for the input. How did you overclock it (the CPU right) I have tried that but with no luk, besides Dell swears to me that this new cpu will work. I just want to play BF2 w/o the lag :( Playing BF2 without lag, wouldn't that be nice!!?? ( LOL ) seriously, you need to look into upgradeing your entire system, a PCI video card is not capable of supporting BF2, they do not have enough bandwidth to render the massive amounts of graphical output needed to play it, I know there are those who will argue, but BF2 and the newest Fear are the most Graphic intensive games on the market today and REQUIRE massive amounts of ALL SYSTEM RESOURCES, if you meet the minium requirements, your computer will play the game, just not very well, so if your looking to reduce video and system lag, go with a PCI-E, ( that's PCI-E ), motherboard and PCI-E graphics.

Ouch, my brain is already starting to hurt! An ATI 9250 video card won't do much good if you want to game... get a new motherboard and go with PCI-Express X16. Spend a little over $100 and you'll find a fairly decent card made by either NVIDIA or ATI.
