I am trying to install Quicken from the disk (2010 basic or 2008 deluxe) on my new computer. I am running Vista Business on Bootcamp. I have used both of these Quicken versions on other machines with no problem. The first time I tried to install the Quicken 2010 it ran fine and said the program was installed but when I tried to open it this error message came up. "Your Quicken program files (not your data files) may have been damaged. You will need to reinstall Quicken." I have done this several times with both programs to no avail. I have deleted the installed versions with Quicken's own uninstaller, with the windows' built in uninstall program and with Revo's uninstaller before I tried to install again but, again, no luck. Can anybody help me? Thanks.

64 bit or 32 bit version of Vista Business?

Bootcamp should not screw anything up, unless you are maybe running the 64 bit version...I cannot recall if Apple officially supports 64 bit Windows in Bootcamp.

And the 2010 version of Quicken should have no issues with Vista...again other than maybe the 64 bit version.

It's the 32 bit version and I have used it and the Quicken 2008 together on another computer but no luck this time.

In checking the Quicken Help database I came across a suggestion to fix another kind of installation problem so with nothing to lose I tried it. I copied the entire installation disk contents to my hard drive and ran the install file from there--and it worked! So, if anyone had a similar problem to my original one this might work for you as well.

A fresh installation of Quicken usually should solve underlying program errors, especially if program files have been damaged or lost after a system crash or unexpected shutdown. In my case, many times I had to reinstall my Quicken but still appears that the files are damaged. I even used your suggestion by copying the entire installer in the hard drive, and sadly didn't work for me. Have read various troubleshooting tips until I've read this post
http://www.programer...ram-errors.html
only to find out that the piece of crap causing the files to be corrupted is a virus. when the virus was removed, I was able to successfully install the program.
