Hi there, my name's Brian. First time poster but frequent viewer to the site.I won a Logitech G7 laser mouse which from everything i've heard is excellent and the last mouse i'll ever need. What I need now is a good keyboard for gaming but good all around obviously as well.Currently I have a MX 3000 which I love, but Logitech doesn't offer the keyboard alone.Any suggestions, comments, etc would be most helpful. Thanks!Brian

thanks Kelli :)any ideas on good keyboards or know where to go or who to ask? I've got it narrowed down to 3 companies...it's just deciding which one.

Sorry, that's the part I can't help you with... especially for gaming. I am a laptop person, but I have a Goldtouch keyboard on my one desktop. Probably not optimized for gaming, though. I'm sure that someone else will come along that will be able to help you.

Hiya JB, thanks alotDone alot of reviewing since yesterday looking for a keyboard. Didn't realize just how much goes into it but when you want the perfect setup to fit everything you do.I read some reviews of the MERC and it's definitly one of the ones i'm considering. I really like the layout on the left side as that'd be easier to have a bunch of the buttons there. The G15 I looked at and it looks nice but I really have no need for the LCD display. The game displays all I need to know so it just seems useless to me.The other one i'm reading about that looks to be pretty good is the Wolf Claw Type II[url]http://www.extremetech.com/article2/0,1697,1851618,00.asp?login=1&r=1_. Do you know anything about that one?Supposed to be on par with the Merc.

You don't need to waste your money on a flashy G15. The display screen is useless, and the 'G' keys usually dont serve much of a purpose. The only plus side to the G15 is in my opinion, the illuminated keys. What I would reccomend is the Logitech Media Keyboard. I bought it for $40 CAD. They keys have the same feel and pressure as the G15, and its more than half the price. It has all the media features the G15 does, except for the 'G' Keys and the LCD display. They keys are waterproof, so you can never short circuit or bust your keyboard. Try and check it out, hopefully you'll like it.

Hiya Alex, thanks for the suggestion.I'm actually currently using a Logitech MX 3000 which I absolutly love.If Logitech made the keyboard by itself i'd probably get that but it only comes with the mouse unfortunatly.

yea. I was given the G7 mouse as a gift but was just sitting in my desk still in it's box because I love the MX 3000 but it's stupid to let such a good mouse sit there so now I gotta find a keyboard to compliment it

In one of my previous posts I explained why in my opintion the G15 wasn't worth the money or the greatest keyboard. Can you please explain why you think its good? Just out of curiosity.

The LCD screen has NUMEROUS ADVANTAGES, if you are a gamer, and use Ventrillo, also the configurable G keys, are just that CONFIGURABLE with most of the popular games and can monitor motherboard temps and voltage and CPU and ram usage, not to mention FPS and all the in game stats and you can program macro's to work on the G keys also, the possibilities are vast and varied and useful.

I've noticed that the monitor for CPU and RAM usage is very unaccurate. Almost to the point where its completely unbelievable.
