HTML help SIMPLE AS HECK

I am running two hard-drives on my server, one I use for a shared resource (LAN fileserver), and the othe has my web-site on it. I am running the file index.php on my C: www folder, I want to make a link to E:files (the directory in which I keep the files for my lan)<a href="E:files">Files</a> Dosen't work because it says there is no protocoll for that, If I try E:/files/ I get the same thing. Thanks!
