my sister bought a digital usb camera/web cam.she can't find the instructions.the connection has usb "a" connectors at each end.how does this work in reguards to the flow of information?she said she has taken pics, but i opened it up and found nothing.ultimately i guess my question is "does data still flow in both directions even though the connection ends are identical ?"

YesThere is no difference between a usb cord with two usb "a" ends and a cord with a usb "a" and "b" at each other end.Go to the manufacturer's wesite and try to find the instructions. Maybe you have to install software that came with the camers before your computer can properly communicate with your camers.
