SCMRPG does not belong on this list! That game is great! While it's not the most fun game in the world to play it certainly isn't supposed to be! It's the first video game to elevate the medium to more than just a distraction for nerds and ADD kids...It makes video games a REAL way to express thoughts and it does a better job of showing the impact of violence than any other game...it doesn't glorify the tragedy, it lets the player see into the minds of the disturbed teens and perhaps recognize any similar patterns in their own thinking, thus allowing them to change before following a similar path...while the second half of the game (in hell) is really bogus and has no historic context whatsoever; the first half gives the player a disturbing feeling of actually being those two. Two things show the designers good intentions...1. the game is long (too long to just be a sick killing game)2. its an rpg (its not realistic like a fps, and the fighting system makes killing ppl not fun).

This is a terrible article. I'm ashamed and infuriated that people like this can get jobs as "writers". It's an embarassment to the trade itself. And explains why the profession is so choked these days.

The article, as mentioned by others, vacillates between a moral outrage and simple poor video game design. Most of these games don't deserve to be on any "worst" list, and I'm upset that I was linked here by a supposedly objective site such as Wikipedia. This isn't objective journalism. This is some overgrown child who can't deal in the adult world with mature themes, and should not be treated with any degree of respect and authority.

Excuse me? I also lived in Montreal then, and had no problem getting recent games almost the same time they came out in the US, I don't know where you were buying them from but I never had that problem you had!

I actually kind of liked the ET game, but I think I bought it on clearance at Kay-Bee for about $2. 2600 Pac-Man REALLY sucked, though., but they did make up for it with the Ms Pac Man port.
