I recently downloaded the freeware program WinFix 1.1 after reading about it in my new issue of PC World. After using the program a bit, it seems like most, if not all of the problems it reports, do not actually exist, and clicking the fix buttons, while prompting a reassuring message that things were set right, seemed to do nothing. Am I using it wrong?

Hi Ron :
I have done a Google "Search" AND a "Search" on the
PCWorld site and have found no mention of a
"WinFix 1.1" . Who is the "Author" of this ?
IF it is "associated" with the highly reliable info
at http://www.bleepingc....exe-10603.html ,
then I recommend you follow their Advice and
uninstall it .

Actually, the program is FixWin (http://find.pcworld.com/64320). It is referenced in Rick Broida's most recent (March 2010) "Hassle-Free PC" column in the Magazine...basically, the same as what was done here: http://www.pcworld.c..._one_click.html
