I just received my new 80GB item and want to transfer my old music files from my 40GB. Don't care about not being able to leave them on the old one.Have search everwhere for "how to" or software download etc but nothing.

Why don't you just use iTunes (or windows explorer if possible) and drag and drop your music files from your old iPod to your computer/hard drive. Then from your computer, pop it onto your new iPod?Ps. Since when does Apple make 80gb and 40gb models of iPods?

Can't use iTunes because not all the music on the iPod is in the library and the iTunes transfer is only to the iPod not from the iPod

It is true that music cannot be transfered from the ipod back to the computer using Itunes. This is due to piracy reasons.Try this http://www.gold-soft...d-file8320.html
