I am running windows XP media edition 2002. The last few months I am unable to get my screen saver to run. I have checked all settings for display and they are right. As well as tried a system restore as far back as I could go and no luck there either. I can see screen savers while in display properties and select preview but they will not initiate after time selected has gone by...Any ideas, would like to preserve my monitor without having to turn off my PC all the time. :unsureDawn[/b]

Thanks for the suggestion. I have added the Microsoft Laser Mouse 6000 and Wireless Keyboard...When I performed the clean restart and and restarted the computer with selective start up I have determined that my screen saver will work until I turn on the LOAD STARTUP ITEMS, I removed 2 Intellitype programs from add/remove program list but am unable to determine which start up item is the culprit? There is only 5 items on the start up tab.ehtray - ccApp -shwiconem - NvCpl - ctfmonWould one of these be the culprit and if so how do I get rid of it ? Anything else I can do?

Hi sunkist,The ccApp is your anti-virus. Only take that off startup if you are not conected to the internet. You can check out what the others are at this site http://www.windowsst.../search.phpWhen you find out what programs they are you can go to the vendors site and see if they have a solution for the conflict. Thanks for the info."ehtray" is the culprit. It is the Media Center so by disabling it in startup my screen saver works again :-)
