Scanner doesn`t works under XP

Help! Scanner Acer Scanpriza 340P don`t wirk under XP, but when it were Win98, it was allright. The driver MiraScan I`ve got from the Drivers Lbrary, didn`t help.That very Acer now don`t produce scanners, and don`t aswer the questions.If somebody knows, what to do, drop me a letter.Afanas.

I have seen this before, and I'm afraid that the cure is to buy a new scanner. I don't know why MS has made changes to the OS between WIN98 and WINXP that render the drivers for one platform unusable on the next. I had the same problem with a Canon scanner and found it to be based with interfaces used. I was using a setup that was on the parellel port, and it refused to work with an upgrade to WINXP. Really messed up my setup, as I had the parellel port on a router so all users could use the printer and scanner. The cure was to get a new scanner and set it up on a server type unit that ran the scanner and printer, accessable thru a WIFI router. Made for a much better setup, but added two more pieces of hardware to the donation pile. Good Luck.
