Hi, I'm a new Digital subscriber (just today). I had been a paper subscriber for years, and then lapsed only because of the weight of the paper. So here's feedback, and I wish it were nice: The Zinio reader is awful. VERY SLOW, print size annoying, not intuitive how to use it. I'm on Comcast XFINITY 1GB bps, so it's fast, and hooked up on Comcast on my desktop. Is there no way to just read the Magazine online at PC World? The advantage for the subscriber, is that he can toggle between the tab containing the Magazine, and your other many wonderful articles, instead of struggling with the Zinio reader. If I have to use Zinio, I'd prefer paper.
Seems like Zinio is designed for tablets and Androids, etc. Not good for a desktop, I'm afraid.
I'm reporting based on Firefox, didn't try using it in Chrome or IE8 yet (am on XP Prof), maybe those are faster. (Chrome right now is having trouble streaming videos, their users are complaining about it, so any Chrome problems might be due to Chrome.)

The reality is the a lot of the content in the magazine is available on the website, which is why a lot of people don't bother with a subscription (I do...I like paper version still and I also consider it a way to support the magazine overall). Generally, the main thing not available on the website are the "feature" articles (i.e. the "big" stuff that tout on the cover).
And FWIW, there is a Kindle edition, but the reviews for it on the Amazon site ain't that good.
Personally, I still like the paper version. Even if a digital worked well on my tablet (an iPad...it works well for reading eBooks and PDFs), I would likely still stick with the paper version.

Thank you for that feedback. I'll try the Kindle version, since I use Kindle for PC and love it. PC World did switch my sub to paper. Problem is, I was a longtime subscriber before, and I always was loathe to throw out the paper; had two file cabinets filled with back issues, when DOS 1-2-3 was all the rage.
But as you say, it's a way to support the magazine, which I want to do. But NOT, via Zinio. I hope someday they just decide to give us passwords or something, and keep the full issues here in PC World, which would be much faster and easier to use. And probably, would get more subscribers. That way they could also afford to pare down the number of 'free articles' anyone can read.
I'm a big believer in financially supporting well-run or well-designed stuff. Which is why I want to stop supporting Windows, if MS keeps on the way it's going. Am right now doing the tedious ALL DAY INSTALLATION nonsense on my new XP (yes, XP, I'll die before I go to Win7, except on some later netbook) -- solely because MS is so paranoid and secretive about how to do stuff, replete with the stupidest defaults I've ever seen.
PC World doesn't suffer from that. The only annoying thing about PC World's content is the compare products for shopping. Always too little information, and too much white space, so one can't make a decision, but has to search all over to find missing information. But at least they organize the search categories well. And its articles? FABULOSO!

I know the feeling. Being a "packrat", I do have a lot of old PCWorld (and PCMag [until they went digital only and I dropped them], Macworld, MacLife, and a couple other) issues. I did get rid of a lot of old issue when I last moved about 8 years ago.

I have yet to find a digital magazine format that I like (not that I have that many that I have tried). I did get to play with Zinio some when PCMag killed their paper version. I hated it. I did not want to have to read my magazine at my desktop or laptop (this was before before tablets were around). So, I killed my subscription. I have also use some CoverLeaf as I get digital editions of MacLife in addition to my paper version. Don't really like it either. I have not tried a "pure" iPad digital mag, so it might be better.
Overall, I am just not a fan of trying to read some magazine on my computer...iPad maybe.
