Deleting my hard drive

i am adding a hard drive from an older computer onto an newer computer and i was wondering how, if possible to delete everything on it(files, operating system etc.) without buying a software. the hard drive is only about a 60GB and i am using it as a slave. if you have any suggestions please let me know i would greatly appreciate it ~Chuck

I usually use the DOS prompt and delete the partition and any extentions from the drive. Then you should be able to use the OS to format the "new" drive and prepare it.

Both ways work fine, but DOS I find is a better environment. Ever consider maybe making that hardrive into an external?
