Every year when Christmas rolls around I have the arduous task of printing Christmas cards for my business and family. Since I send out over 200 cards I prefer use a printer and not hand sign each card as well as address each envelope. And every year I find no matter what printer I own at the time (do they ever last more than a few years?) it takes forever to get the printer to accept the cards. I usually have to print one card at a time, pushing it in because it won't feed automatically. The printer I own this year I've had for just over a year and even though it printed cards on it last year, in the manner I mentioned above, this year it won't take even one card without jamming. Surely others print on cards and surely someone makes a printer tough enough to handle the thickness of cards. Any recommendations or advice. I currently have a HP 5510 and am looking at purchasing a HP c6180.

`I am looking for the same information...I print runs of around 100 cards but find that the cards have to be fed manually and often smudge. Red River paper recommends Epson and Canon but not HP as heavier duty card will stick in the card feeder. I use an Epson RX 560 but still have to hand feed. I would love to find a printer - 17 inch format for high quality photographic reproduction that accepts 260 GSM or higher heavy duty card for printing greetings cards. There must be millions of us out there looking for this...why haven't the big companies thought of us ???I run my own business from home and cannot afford huge prices for industrial printers... and I am sure this is a problem for many people who have home offices. Come on Epson, HP and Canon....we are a big niche market...and growing!

HP Deskjet 3620. I've been using this printer and a software from americangreetings.com for the last 3 years and everyone says my cards are better than the ones that you buy from a store

What paper do you use? What is the weight? Will your printer take 230gsm? I have been using Avery 3268 but the feeder jams with a multiple print run. I have just bought a new Epson and it jams too and leaves a smudge unless you hand - feed each sheet. Red River paper say that HP printers are even worse than Epson with heavyweight paper...what do you think?
