Presently using Nero 6.6.0.13(registered & fully functional) Is is advisable to switch to d above version??
Got Nero9 Essentials as part of a hardware package. Some say Nero9 Essen. is a stripped down version of Nero9, with very few options. Is this true??
Basically what is Nero9 Essen capable of...how is it different form Nero9 ?

I can tell you that in Nero 7 Essentials ( Came bundled with my Lite-On optical drive) it has the following:
Nero Express7 Essentials
Nero Showtime 3 Essentials
Nero Vision 4 Essentials
Nero Recode 2 Essentials
InCD 5 Essentials
Nero 9 will probably be along the same lines with a newer version of the stuff, if there is a newer version.

I was just looking at nero's site a few minutes ago.
Hopefully this comparison chart will answer your question.

I know where you are coming from but I do not know how much if any.
Using nero 8 and earlier versions I can't say there was an impressive gain.
All upgrades were based only on improved features.
If I may add my opinion.
I didn't like nero 8s interface. Not sure if its the same as 9.
Using 7 right now and its the same interface as 6.

With that price reduction, I'd say that somebody bought it, didn't like it and "Reloaded" it back in the box and sent back.

The specifications tab shows the product name is "Nero 9 Reloaded." After some searching, I found this about Nero 9 Reloaded: http://www.cdrinfo.c...px?NewsId=26093 I also found Nero 9 Lite (free) and a 15-day trial of Nero Multimedia Suite 10.

I have the fully functional and registered version of Nero 6.6.0.13 as well. I just bought a LiteOn External DVD/CD writer and Nero 9 essentials came bundled with it. So I installed it, thinking I was getting the new version of Nero. You are right, it is a stripped down version-a teaser, I guess to make you want to splurge for the full version. I wasn't overly impressed with it. The only difference I can tell that I really like is the fact when I drag an mp3 file at a low bit rate to burn to CD into the Nero Vision window, I don't have to edit the time as I did with Nero 6. For some reason in Nero 6 if the mp3 is a low bit rate it would show the file is twice as long as it actually is and I always had to edit the properties, adjusting the length of the file to get it to burn. Not sure if I will switch back but so far not really impressed with Nero 9 Essentials. If your version of 6 works great you aren't really missing anything by not upgrading. You are actually upgrading from a fully functional program to one that has limitations. Try it, if you don't like it switch back. Probably what I will do.
