The fly-out menu that appears on hovering the mouse over the Reviews link on the top red strip on the article pages of the PCWorld.com website is distracting. It appears without my intention to make it do, and making is disappear is not so intuitive either. The menu should expand on clicking (which is obvious from down-pointing arrow attached to it) and should stay out of the way until needed. Thank you.

I agree with you. It is a bit annoying like those pop-out ads that are quite popular nowadays. Setting it to a click like you suggested would be a great change in my opinion.

You guys are too polite. It is the most obnoxious menu I've seen on a respectable website since I enabled popup blockers. It is BIG. It blocks the first paragraph or two of the article I want to read. It appears even when I try to avoid going anywhere near the reviews menu tab. And it does not go away by itself.

The News menu does the same thing.

The site has experienced some major problems of late. For the most part it is back up and running but still a WIP . Be patient.

I believe these modifications to the site outside the forum are intended and permanent changes. The pop-out Review tab was put in place two months before the IPB 3.1.2 update. The News tab doesn't appear to have a pop-out window, just the Reviews tab.

If you hover over the reviews menu it does come down But, if you mouse away,it just roles back up
Without any other interventions. At least, that's the way it works for me on Firefox.

Actually, I don't mind it. It gives you all of the other reviews , Hardware or Software on the same menu.

@Flashhorn

Well, in my case the Reviews menu does not vanish automatically on moving the mouse away from it - I have to click somewhere outside within the page (being careful about not accidentally clicking a hyperlinked text phrase or image). That is the case with all four browser I use: Latest versions of Firefox, Internet Explorer, Opera, and Safari.

Yes, if the menu works for you the way you described, obviously you won't mind it. Sadly, that's not the case with some people like me (maybe our OS' are different or something). I think you'll agree that that opening the menu via a click (rather than by just hovering over) will be a nicer implementation anyway, at least you won't dislike that either, would you?
