Awesome. Now if only the DX would drop to $330... that'd be amazing!
Again though, where's the iPad price drop from Apple? I'm sure they'll do it the week before they announce iPad 2.

Mr. Bertolucci,
Don't forget that Apple released iOS 4 and iBooks 1.1 (compatible with iPhone) today! Apple just handed an e-reader to the millions and millions of iPhone 3G(S) owners for free. I think that belongs a mention in the article! I'm also pretty sure that was the reason behind both price drops.

That is a possibility. However I very much doubt it was the only reason.

@BrianMichaelHite,
Neither the iPad nor iPhone are eReaders...which is what this article is about. Yes, both can display ebooks, but then again, so can any PC out there.

Which formats do iOS 4 and iBooks 1.1 support? I think that there won't be mass penetration of these things until a more standard format is accepted and the price goes down even further.

Like the free Kindle app for Windows, OS X, iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad, BlackBerry and others? Why should I buy a Kindle or Nook that will only do books, when I've already got three devices that do the same thing?

"An atheist is just somebody who feels about Yahweh the way any decent Christian feels about Thor or Baal or the golden calf. As has been said before, we are all atheists about most of the gods that humanity has ever believed in. Some of us just go one god further."

I have had my share of iphones, androids, ipad and so many laptops to read stuff from and nothing ever comes closes to the reading experience of a eReader...
come one...I just want to read books...do nothing else...not check my emails / watch video...just read...
and for that eReader is best since I have tons of PDF to read off from...and that's where Nook shines...I can just drop my PDF into nook and it works...no need to send my private stuff to Amazon to get them to convert into Kindle-ish....
I say take away all mobiles, laptops and ipads from students and give them books to write and nook to read...you will have more educated students than distracted ones....

iPad reads PDFs without sending anything to anyone. I have them in my dropbox, works great.
