Cash For iPhones is a scam. They offered me $130 less than the original quote. They said that although there was no damage to my iPhone that it was used and they could not sell it as new. They also lowered my girlfriends quote by a large amount. A quick web search or a look on the BBB shows how this company operates.

'Cash for iPhones' is a total scam. I got an estimate, on their web site, of $275 for my 32GB iPhone 4, then when I sent it to them they said it was scratched, blah, blah, blah and they would only offer me $120.
I told them I throughly inspected it and I know there were no scratches of nicks of any kind and it looked perfect. So I said 'send it back'.
The guy paused and said 'Aren't you gonna work with me here?". I said 'Nope, I'd rather let it sit in a drawer, then let you guys make any money from it.'
He told me it would take 4 weeks to get it. Fine by me, just send it.
Well, it only took 5 days to get it back and I just sold it on Craigslist for $350, to a guy in my area. Just drove over got the cash and it was easy.
DO NOT send your phone to 'Cash for iPhones' They are depending on you to take whatever they offer. And since they are still in business, people must be doing it.

cashforiphones is a complete scam. please do your homework before recommending businesses because your magazine's reputation is on the line. these guys are a bait and switch operation and offer much less than what they promise using false pretext.

In my experience, Cashforiphones is not like the kind of site everybody is railing atagainst. I sold my iPhone 3GS 16GB last month and I was offered $105 dollars. Quite a lot for a two year-old device! I agreed on to the quote and I received a prepaid shipping mailer the next day. I secured the package and dropped it off at the nearest UPS branch within the vicinity.

It is true that you have to wait for a few days to hear from them. I cannot blame you for feeling so scammed especially if that was your first time in doing the transaction. After five business days, I got a call from them. The surprising thing was they said they saw minor defects and discoloration on the iPhone and its screen. You see, although the appearance of my iPhone was immaculately unscathed, I must admit that there really were defects and a bit of yellow discoloration on the screen. They said I could only offer me $75 dollars! What the heck! I still accepted it.

I think the key there is to be really honest in answering the forms. Or just be prepared. After all, they are a business. Cashforlaptops is not a charitable institution.

I have read so many negative reviews about Cashforiphones and I knew that if ever I go went to them selling my old iPhone, I would be in a financial dilemma. But not when I actually went there in the time when I was terribly broke. I just filled out the forms as honestly as possible and I was given a low, yet reasonable price. I mean, it is not as if I wanted to get paid with the original amount I paid for my iPhone when it was still brand spanking new. The secret is to be honest enough so you will not expect a lot from a used, old, or broken iPhone. Believe me, you will be happier that way.
