This article makes complete technical sense. I'm impressed! Thank you PCWorld.
A good read.

Apple's decision not to support Flash was never over technical conviction or superiority. It's about not losing control over the content and marketing of their apps.
All you Jesus phone/pad users... welcome to the Apple us computer geeks have known and loathed for a long, long time.

Flash isn't just a video player. Flash is a vector animation program, at least that's what it started out as. The headline should say 'Youtube backs FLV'.

@Tommy89
Not quite. The headline is correct. They are backing the player itself, which has tremendous penetration in the market. That, combined with the features already built into the flash player (missing from HTML5 as of yet), are the reason why YouTube justificably sticks with Flash.

at least we have one site that refuses to bend over backwards for the minority.
"There is a cult of ignorance in the United States, and there always has been. The strain of anti-intellectualism has been a constant thread winding its way through our political and cultural life, nurtured by the false notion that democracy means that 'my ignorance is just as good as your knowledge.'" -- Isaac Asimov
