If I am going to buy a fake IPhone, why do they pretend I am going to pay the same as for the real thing? And with Sprint an inferior network. I wouldn't pay more than a hundred for the EVO.

So you'd rather buy an iPhone and go with AT&T's network? Besides, if you wait a while, all the EVO will cost is $100.
Look, there are now two types of smartphones. Phones with proprietary (closed) source OS's and phones with open source OS's. Apple's iPhones and Micorsoft's Windows phones are prime examples of closed source OS's; HTC EVO, Android and Palm's (now HP) WebOS are examples of open source OS's.
There is little basis for direct OS comparison between HTC's EVO and Apple's iPhone. There is even less basis for the assertion that EVO is a "fake iPhone." There are choices to be made and consumers and the marketplace will ultimately decide.

"You can fool some of the people all of the time and you can fool all of the people some of the time...those are pretty good odds!"
