I don't have a clue how iphone users can downplay widgets... WIDGETS are the #1 reason I will NEVER buy an iphone... I don't want to open an app everytime i want to see my calendar, or review a text message, go to settings->wireless->turn wifi on when I can click one button on my homescreen, or look at the weather... I want a widget the displays the info without clicking anything... it not only saves time and battery but completely changes the way you use your phone... I don't know how apple fanboys can still rep their OS with such simple implementations non-existent

don't get me started on android vs iphone's notification system

I love the widgets too. They absolutely transform the phone.

After the recent iPhone 4 issues, I'd say most of them have probably gone underground. Either that or they are slowing realizing that Apple is evil and are switching to a different device (whether Android or something else)

Careful, Gralla. This is Apple fanboys you're messing with, the most dangerous species on the Earth. They'll hunt you down mercilessly and paint apples on your house.

I still don't see why anyone can choose this over an iPhone. The benefits of having an iPhone are the millions of apps available and the ease of jailbreak and unlock which allows you add "widgets" if you would like. When a Droid phone starts using an "app-store" like apps with millions of apps and counting then I would take a look at it. Until then it's just a smart phone. The apps I see available for android users just look plain boring...no fun at all. That's why we love our iPhones.

Rather than having to unlock your phone, wouldn't you prefer a company that didn't require you to void its warranty to completely enjoy their product? Yes it's simple to undo the process, but I've just never understood all the hype about jailbreaking..

Actually, Motorola has made it very difficult to root the Droid X so DX users don't have the ability to use their phone to its full potential either. There is a check upon startup of the phone to make sure the Motorola ROMS are installed..You run the same risks with the Droid X as you do with the iPhone when attempting to "completely enjoy" your product.

Oh and contray to the the articles information, iPhone 4 does allow tethering...

Don't forget the number of malware available in the appstore, 1 vs 14000, LOL.

why do so many pcworld writers state facts that are clearly wrong? iPhone 4 does allowing tethering, so does iPhone 3GS running iOS 4.0.

Millions of apps, what planet are you on ? Last count I saw: 225,000 iphone, 60,000 android.
Most of the apps on both systems are pretty much garbage anyway, how many fart apps are needed ?
Consider how long both systems have been up and running.
Sorry, iphone 0, android 1.

Gee, I'd just like to make phone calls for a change. Many place I used to get reception with Sprint, I now don't with ATT. At home my iPhone 3 reports four bars, yet only 1 out of 5 calls connects, the one that does connect eventually drops out, so I have to script my phone calls and blurt them out as fast as possible.

ATT = epic fail. I hear Verizon is almost as reliable as Sprint.

The iOS 4 devices do indeed allow tethering. However, AT&T charges you $20/month to do it via USB cable (no hotspot option), and that fee doesn't give you a higher data cap. With a Verizon Android phone, you can use PDANet or Easy Tether to tether your phone with a USB cable for free, and $20/month more will add the WiFi hotspot feature. And since Verizon's data plans are still unlimited, there's no lousy 2GB data cap like AT&T has now. AT&T will allow you to keep your unlimited plan if you still have it, but if you want to tether your iPhone, you'll be forced off of it.

I can relate, but I went the other direction. My wife and I were AT&T customers for almost 10 years. We were able to get our hands on the EVO and we switched to Sprint. Now I get a 3G signal in places that my Nexus One never had one. I'm a much happier Sprint customer, not only that I'm paying less per month now as well.

OMG!!! You are the most uninformed Apple user I have ever seen. Millions of apps, hahahaha, with that statement alone you just showed us all how little you know about your phone. Apple has about 200k apps. Android has an app-store with around 100k apps, and we have very high quality apps. You have absolutly no clue how many better phones are out there then your phone. Heck, my samsung omnia I had for 2 years that I just retired had a 5 megapixel camera, what? the iPhone 4 just got a 2 year old camera? My droid x has 8 megapixels with a hardware shutter. you guys are so behind the times. Apple is getting further and further behind. You need to educate yourself, because Apple is the bottom of the bucket compared to be best android devices out. It would do you good to actually learn something instead of beliving what the apple users are telling you, because they are filling your head with lies.

Verizon is pretty good. Anyone saying otherwise is not a Verizon customer and does not know the truth. I have traveled all over the country and never seen my phone roam. Always been on network. At worst, my 3G dropped and I had to download gps maps using 1X EVDO, and that was in swamp country down south. People are just saying Verizon sucks so they can feel better about being with AT&T which is horrible. I love being on 3G with full bars when my friends cant even make a phone call.

I have a Droid X. It records 720 HD video, and has a mechanical shutter like a real camera, so it records video with no motion blur like the iPhone. It also takes 8 megapixel photos versus the iPhones 5 megapixel camera that good phones have had for over 2 years. The X's camera is as good as a point and shoot camera and not oversaturated to the point where stuff glows like the iPhone 4.
