Reader Input... Hmmm! Well, here's my 2 cents worth...I believe that PC World should stop doing reviews on digital cameras. They appear to be ill equipped to do any in depth testing regarding the lens quality, resolution (too much emphasis on megapixels, and not enough on sensor size, type, technology, etc), or any other meaningful aspect of these units. The number of idiot proof programs these cameras contain do not make them better. In fact, features like anti-shake or noise reduction generally come at the cost of inferior image quality, something that's generally left out of your reviews. Leave digital photography to the photographic specialists in the field, i.e. magazines like Popular Photography and Imaging, American Photo, Shutterbug, etc.One example of an opinionated review from your January 2007 edition on the Top 10 Digital Cameras would be the "Bottom line" on the Nikon D70s SLR, in which you stated "Small, lightweight camera possesses conveniences that other cameras don't have, but its image quality is a bit weak". On what do you base the weakness of the image quality? Its predecessor, the D70 was named as the 2004 digital camera of the year by the photographic industry and photographers alike. The D70s was an upgrade of the D70. What data do you have to back up your assertion? Sending one of your editors out into the street to do a camera test, or whatever obviously subjective method you use, does not constitute a valid test, and printing slanted reviews do your readers a great disservice.
