im about to buy a sony vaio vgn-fe790, and i have one thing i need to find out before i go thru....any help would be appreciated:ive been told that Sony comes with the integrated video card, attached to the motherboard, which drains from the system memory when in use.if when i order my vaio, i upgrade my video card to the NVidia GeForce, would it still be integrated with the motherboard? or would it be completely separate, and not effect the systems memory?any help? thanks alot...

If you have an available AGP or PCI-E slot, if you upgrade your card it will no longer be integrated, as it won't be built into your motherboard. So say if you were to buy a Geforce 6800, it would be placed into a PCI-E or AGP slot, not soldered into the motherboard. The only reason integrated cards use up your ram is becuase most integrated share part of your system ram. However, if you were to upgrade to the 6800, it would come with it's own ram and leave your system ram alone. All you have to do is disable your integrated graphics after you install your newer graphics card and you're all set.

Well technically Sony should do that for you. Just be sure to ask if its a DEDICATED card or not. If they say no, then its just the nVidia version soldered onto the mobo.
