hello pcworld. this is the first time i write here, so if i'm asking stupid things please let me know lol... not so much. i've been looking around the dell site for some time now, checking out the inspiron 9400 (the same thing than the E1705, in mexico and the rest of the world) and i decided to do some research about it on the net. i came across several reviews about. in general i found that it's a very good laptop overall, having as greater drawbacks its huge size and some malfunctioning in isolated items. if it doesn't malfunction, which isn't very often, they say it runs wonderfully; and the size isn't a problem for me. so, i'm pretty much convinced that that's the one i'll be buying. however, i noticed that the first reviews of this laptop came out around january 2006, so it's already about a year old. i don't know how often dell updates its models, but i think a year is a fair enough time to do so. so i've been wondering if anyone could tell if they're expecting dell too launch a new model soon, when i mean soon, in less than 1 or 2 months. i believe that if the E1705 will be updated, so will its counterpart in the rest of the world, the 9400. so if anyone knows, i'd really appreciate the help.merry xmas to all

Dude Im not sure about Dell's plans, it would make sense to launch a new model with vista coming out next year however. You should probably buy even the same (it will be updated however) model next year, since DDR3 Ram, the new Intel processors and vista are all hitting the fan by january. (Along with the 8800 series of cards for nVidia already out, Direct X 10, and quad-cores.) It'd be better to buy then too especially after the overpricyness of xmas is over. Just look for a good deal that suits your needs then preferably and buy, plus youll be on top of us technologically that bought recently.
